Safety Awareness Booklet Launch L to R: Richard Burke (Managing Director), John Dooley (Director), Tom Parlon (CIF), Ross Melville(Oran Pre-cast), Robbie Keelan (Financial Director), Mark Patterson (H&S Manager)
The 11th of April 2008 saw Oran Pre-cast receive national acclaim from the construction industry following the overwhelming success of the “Oran Pre-cast Safety Awareness Booklet” launch.
Oran Pre-cast was delighted to welcome Mr. Tom Parlon, the Chief Executive of the CIF, to our head quarters to officially launch the booklet. Over 100 people representing main contractors, the Construction Industry Federation, the Health & Safety Authority to name but a few attended the launch. On the day, the car park was transformed into a safety exhibition, as we proudly displayed our “Safe systems of work” to the rest of the industry.
Richard Burke (Managing Director) addressed the audience and spoke about the strong commitment to the safety and health of our employees within the culture of the company.
Mark Patterson (H&S Manager) identified precast installation as one of the most high risk operations undertaken in the construction industry today, however, went on to explained how Oran Pre-cast are currently leading the way amongst our competitors in safe guarding the safety and health of our employees, through improved systems and continued innovation.
Tom Parlon congratulated Oran Pre-cast on the success of the company so far and commended us on our continued growth and contribution to the industry and indeed the local economy. He commented it was most unusual for a company the size of Oran Pre-cast to be taking such steps to help make our employees aware of the dangers of their work activities. He suggested that other companies sit up and take notice of the improvements and strides Oran Pre-cast were making with regard to health and safety within our organisation.
The Safety Awareness Booklet is in both English and Polish and has be very well received by all employees involved in the installation of hollow core products. In the future it is hoped to develop this innovation further and expand the concept into other areas of the organisation.
